Powerlink Ignition switched 12V Supply, switched live source

The Powerlink Ignition Switched 12V Supply automatically senses when the alternator is turning and charging the battery and switches current to the load.
Ignition Sensing is automatic and does not require the use of a seperate signal wire.

Sensing takes account of overvoltage availability of the battery, load demand and line voltage drop under load, designed to switch power to the load when the vehicle alternator is charging the battery, but in order to protect the vehicles battery from discharge, turns off the load when the engine is switched off or if the alternator fails to supply sufficient charge.

FEATURES:

• Auto Sensing:
Automatically senses when the alternator is supplying sufficient charge to the battery and provides a switched live feed of 12V, 5 Amps 60 Watts, to power your load.

• Off Delay Timer:
Some vehicle alternators, especially motorcycles, do not provide enough charge when at idle, e.g. at traffic lights, so to prevent the load from being switched off immediately, there is an in-built delay off timer of 30-40 seconds.
The delay is also functional after the engine stops for more than 30-40 seconds.
Unit will not provide a feed if the engine is not running for longer than this time.

• Compact Size, High Power:
The compact unit belies its ability to handle large currents up to 5 Amps, 60 Watts continuously. Case size: 40x40x20 mm.

• Can Bus and Wiring Loom Friendly:
This unit does not connect to the Can Bus or Wiring Loom, it has a conection to the battery live or a fused permanent live and ground, and then senses when the engine is running by the increase in voltage.

• Splash Proof:
Rated to IP64 Ingress Protection.

EASY INSTALLATION:

For Cars, Vans, Trucks and Motorcycles, ATV etc:
Simple four way connection to wires: Battery Positive Terminal (via inline fuse recommended), Grounds and Load.

Required or Advisable for the following vehicles:

• Ideal for deriving an ignition switched 12V source for accesories such as Navigation, Phone Kits, Sterio Units, Heated Clothing, Power Outlets etc.

• All vehicles which do not supply a hard ignition-switched live via the radio connector.

• Many modern vehicles with CAN-BUS electrical systems which supply only a computerised signal (not a hard ignition-switched live)

• Vehicles with sensitive CAN-BUS electrical systems where electrical feedback can cause problems with other vehicle systems

• Especially useful for vehicles on which access to manually-sourcing a hard ignition-switched live would be difficult or time-consuming.
